On the second floor of a building on the edge of the Plaza de Ponchos, Buena Vista certainly lives up to its name (Good View), especially if you’re lucky enough to get one of the two tables on the balcony. It’s a great spot for breakfast on a Saturday morning when you can watch the empty plaza turn into a sea of rugs, ceramics, jewelry and other handicrafts as the market takes shape.

There’s a small book exchange (take one, leave two), and they play movies in Spanish and English daily. The menu features a lot of pastas and meat dishes for around the $4-5 mark, and the salads are good too. Try the hot fruit juice with cane sugar alcohol, a local specialty.
