V!VA User‘s Description
As you might expect from such a tourist hotspot, Otavalo has a huge choice of hotels and hostels catering for every type of traveller. The town itself features a lot of budget and mid-range accommodation from around 5 USD per night for a dorm bed, up to around 30 USD for a private room with TV, heating etc.
However, some of the nicest places to stay are a few miles outside town, up in the hills. These tend to be a bit more expensive (you can pay up to 280 USD for pure spa luxury), but there are a couple of options to suit the backpacker pocket, too. They offer great views, direct access to walking routes in the countryside and can be great places to chill out for a few days.
