Casa de la Mujer is a building in the center of Cuenca. The "casa" is filled with stalls selling every type of craft typical to Ecuador, especially from the Azuay province. Products include knit sweaters from Otavalo, traditional Andean musical instruments, Panama hats, jewelry, ceramics and weavings. A more orderly and relaxed market than the nearby San Francisco market, you can browse the stalls at your own pace with no one pressuring you to buy anything. There are two stories of stalls and the public bathrooms ($0.10) are located on the second floor. You can also get a cheap lunch here for $1. Open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 to 19:00.
