Cuenca's Churches and Cathedrals

The streets of Historic Cuenca are lined with a myriad of interesting colonial churches. While it may be difficult to pay a visit to all of the city's 52 sanctuaries, it's worth while to pick out a few to see while there.

Two of the most famous, La Inmaculada (the new cathedral) and El Sagrario (the old cathedral), are located opposite each other on either side of the central park. The other church most popular with tourists is Todos Los Santos (All Saints), although this is currently closed for renovations.
