Villa Rosa

Location:
Gran Colombia 12-22
Cuenca, Ecuador

Restaurant Types:
Ecuadorian, International

By Christopher Minster

The Villa Rosa is one of Cuenca’s most elegant restaurants, and one of the best that is not affiliated with a hotel. It is located in a converted colonial home. It isn’t too far from the center of town: it’s about five blocks away from the central park to the northwest and you may want to consider taking a taxi if you’re located south or east of the central square. The restaurant is attractive and the service is very good. The food is excellent. It specializes in Ecuadorian and international cuisine.

The restaurant tends to fill up. You may want to make reservations, especially on weekends. Dress is relatively casual. No tie or jacket is required, but you’ll feel out of place in a T-shirt or tennis shoes.

Traveler Reviews of Villa Rosa

Nice top-end restaurant

Rating: 100%

A really nice place for a splurge. Good food and service, nice, elegant atmosphere. A bit expensive for Cuenca, but worth it if you're not pinching pennies.
