Hotel Santa LucÃa is a beautiful converted home in central Cuenca; the home once belonged to Don Manuel Vega Dávila, the first governor of Azuay province. The hotel is elegant, and the rooms are comfortable and modern, with luxurious amenities like plasma TVs with satellite cable, digital safes, mini-bar and free bottled water. Owned by the Veintimilla family, who also own other successful hotels and restaurants, Hotel Santa LucÃa won an award for best building restoration in 2002. Its restaurant, which doubles as a café, is very good and serves Italian-Ecuadorean style food. A breakfast buffet in the restaurant and a welcome cocktail is included in the price.
