Traveler Reviews of Hotel Crespo

Great place, but under construction

Rating: 100%

The hotel Crespo is a beautiful hotel and has a great view of the river. The restaurant is also nice. Beware though as the streets in front of the hotel are all ripped up for construction and you can't get a car, taxi or bus anywhere near it. They told me in March 2006 that the construction would likely run through July 2006 and it might take even longer because they're finding archaeological artifacts under the street. Some other guests had cancelled their reservations and we were the only ones at the restaurant for lunch one day where we were served by a surprisingly surly waiter. I mean, what else did he have to do?

Beware!

Rating: 0%

I would not stay here again even with a free night. I booked 3 nights, but checked out on the second day. The first night my room was next to a kennel where 2 guard dogs barked ALL NIGHT and ALL DAY long. The bathroom door would not close and the staff never showed up to fix it.  I asked to be moved to quiet room and was moved to other side of hotel where construction workers were jackhammering. Good food in restaurant but that's it. They tried to charge for all three nights plus a fee for moving us to new room.

disappointing; not recommended

Rating: 0%

First they put us in a room above the disco. We didn't sleep until 4 a.m. Too much noise! The second room was above the kitchen, and the room was like a sauna. TOO HOT! - They don't speak English. - Breakfest is standard. They call themselves 4-star, but this is a maximum 3-star hotel and only an option if you wish to be in the center. If you want some sleep find something else. I like the day we checked out!
