Villa Rosa

The Villa Rosa is one of Cuenca’s most elegant restaurants, and one of the best that is not affiliated with a hotel. Rosa is located in a converted colonial home, not too far from the center of town. Since it’s about five blocks away from the central park to the northwest, you may want to consider taking a taxi if you’re located south or east of the central square. The restaurant is attractive and the service is very good. The food is excellent. Rosa specializes in Ecuadorian and international cuisine. The restaurant tends to fill up, so you may want to make reservations, especially on weekends. Dress is relatively casual. No tie or jacketis required, but you’ll feel out of place in a T-shirt or tennis shoes.

good for a splurge

This restaurant is expensive but very nice...a good place to splurge if you want to go somewhere very nice and can afford a night out.

Crit from Rochester New York on Feb 06, 2007

Nice top-end restaurant

A really nice place for a splurge. Good food and service, nice, elegant atmosphere. A bit expensive for Cuenca, but worth it if you're not pinching pennies.
