CEDEI

CEDEI hosts international academic programs and teaches courses in Andean literature, business, environment and culture, as well as Spanish language classes. Around 20 universities from the U.S. have partnerships with CEDEI, allowing students to receive college credit for their coursework. It can also arrange volunteer programs and/or home stays to complement Spanish study. If only in town for a short amount of time, travelers can pay for Spanish classes per week, which typically consist of four hours of instruction per day ($10 per hour): two hours focused on grammar and two hours on conversation skills.

CEDEI is also Cuenca's largest English school, with three campuses in the city. Teachers typically work 12-20 hours per week.
