Located directly across the street from the impossible-to-miss Entrada de la Ciudad, the Hostal Aguilera Internacional is an airy, bright hotel with small but clean rooms, ample parking, and an array of services that includes a social room (for wedding receptions, etc.), a playground, a conference room and a restaurant. There is even a sauna, steam room and gym.

The prices are low mid-range and represent a very good value: the hotel is a significant step up from similarly priced downtown hotels such as the Acapulco and the Central Park Hostal. It is still possible to walk to downtown areas of interest and proximity to Puerta de Loja is a bonus. The view from the rooms is much better than downtown, too: you’ll see the surrounding hills instead of a brick wall.
