Probably the all-around best low-budget lodging option in downtown Loja, Las Orquídeas is a small, but clean and friendly, hostal just around the corner from the central park. The rooms are neat and tidy, the bathrooms clean and the service is friendly. It’s also about the most economical place to stay in Loja that still features private bathrooms. The interior is not nearly as gloomy as most of the other downtown hotels, and efforts have been made to liven it up with plants, wall art, etc. There is no restaurant on the premises but there are several nearby.
