Dank and dismal, the Hotel Acapulco is about as cheery as a morgue. Presumably the building once saw better days, but those days are a fading memory. The rooms are slightly brighter than the murky passageways and stairwells, but the bathrooms smell funky enough to make you wonder if cleanliness is really a priority. The service, while not exactly friendly, is at least efficient and polite. It does also have Cable TV, which is a bonus and as hotels in the area go, there are worse values.

The best that can be said about the Acapulco is that it is well-located, being only a couple of blocks from most of the attractions in downtown Loja (such as they are). You’re better off heading a couple of doors down to the Londres Hotel, or better yet, a couple of blocks over to the Hostal Las Orquídeas.
