Hotel Acapulco

Dank and dismal, the Hotel Acapulco is about as cheery as a morgue. Presumably the building once saw better days, but those days are a fading memory. The rooms are slightly brighter than the murky passageways and stairwells, but the bathrooms smell funky enough to make you wonder if cleanliness is really a priority. The service, while not exactly friendly, is at least efficient and polite.

As hotels in the area go, there are worse values. The best that can be said about the Acapulco is that it is well-located, being only a couple of blocks from most of the attractions in downtown Loja. You’re better off heading a couple of doors down to the Londres Hotel, or better yet, a couple of blocks over to the Hostal Las Orquídeas.
