Cultural Things to Do In Ecuador

If you’re spending a few days in Quito, climb the towers of the La Basílica del Voto Nacional and get a great view of the colonial Centro Historico. Take a trip north to the artisan markets of Otavalo and or head down to the colonial town of Cuenca where you can relax in the Cuenca Central Park under the Abdón Calderón monument.

Climb the glaciers of Cotopaxi, the world’s largest active volcano, or take a dip in the hot springs of Pasochoa. Stop off in Baños, known as the city of spas, where you can mountain bike to waterfalls, horseback ride to the active volcano of Tungurahua or relax in one of the town’s many thermal baths. The high peaks and gorgeous valleys offer hikers countless trails to explore and the natural wonders of the area are waiting to be explored.
