All across the country, in rural areas, small towns and cities, you will find ‘hostals’, which cater for the budget market. Some have dormitories, which cost as little as $2 per night (up to $8 per night in Quito) per person. Most hostals have private rooms as well, with shared or private baths. Most towns also feature hotels, which tend to cost from $10 up to the low $100s - generally speaking, you get what you pay for. International four- and five-star hotel chains exist only in Quito and Guayaquil.
