Great news! Ecuador is a fabulous place for mid-range ($30-$75 daily budget) travelers. Of all of our three categories, you'll be the ones who get the most bang for your buck: while tightwad backpackers are stuck in hostels and well-heeled luxury travelers are staying at the Marriott – which is gorgeous, but frankly, the rooms are the same in Ecuador as they are in Paris and any other place in the world – you'll be enjoying Ecuador’s cozy, charming mid-range hotels, which consist of everything from converted colonial homes and haciendas to bed and breakfasts and adventurous eco-lodges.
