Yepez Tours

Rating: 100%

My son and I had Dennis take us on a week long tour of the East side of Ecuador starting in Quito and ending in Cuenca. Dennis tailored the trip to our requirements. We wanted to start early, end late, and see as much as possible. He did a terrific job. A year later we came back for another one week tour with Dennis. This time we went to the jungle. It was a very interesting trip including a visit to a native village where we met the medicine man and his family. We enjoyed the scenery, saw a lot of birds and wildlife. We did river rafting and panned for gold. I highly recommend Yepez tours. Tom McShane tom@bimark.com

Fabulous Ecuador

Rating: 100%

I've traveled to several Latin American countries over the years and I must say that Ecuador was one of the best; Dennis Yepes was a major factor in our experience. We were introduced to Dennis our second day in Quito and he took us on this extensive tour of the old city sites and museums. He was very informitive and we had a wonderful time. Our plans were to travel down the Avenue of the Volcanoes over the next 10 days and try to climb Chimborazo and Cotopaxi volcanoes. We approached Dennis to see if he would personally escort us on our journey. He agreed. He was the absolute best. He made sure that we stayed in comfortable lodging and that we ate good food. He took us to see sites that we would not of even know about. We were very safe and comfortable throughout the trip. His fees were very resonable. We enjoyed the trip so much that we are planning another and Dennis will be our guide. Dennis comes highly recommended. If you have any questions about my trip e-mail me at tetonmac@juno.com

He's a great guide!

Rating: 100%

Dennis was my guide on my 2-week adventure tour of Ecuador from Nov-Dec 2004. He fulfilled his duties wonderfully by taking care of the logistics to ensure we had a worry-free time (no mean feat as this included a tricky episode when all the bus drivers were striking and we were in danger of being stranded), he gives great restaurant and nightlife recommendations (still recall our night out in Banos), and he is knowledgeable about the various flora and fauna found in the mountain and jungle hikes. But what really sets him apart from your run-of-the-mill tour guide is that he is by nature a fun, extroverted, happy go lucky person who enjoys not only dealing with people but also finding out about yourself and sharing stories about life and travel. He made our trip so much fun, and at the end of it, it really felt like we were travelling with a local native friend from Ecuador, and not a tour guide. Eric

Got us out of a tricky situation

Rating: 100%

Dennis was absolutely, by far, the best tour guide we ever had! He was always on time, knew the shortcuts around the city, and took us to some very interesting places, as well as got us out of a potentially VERY dangerous situation (the indians and cab drivers were rioting because of the price of oil, and we had to make a quick exit out, which he did very efficiently)....we had a blast with him!

Denis in 1998

Rating: 100%

We toured Quito and the surrounding areas with Denis win 1998. He was superb: friendly, courtious and knowledgeable. He did many extra things to make our tour enjoyable. We would recommend him without reservations!

Still In Touch With Dennis

Rating: 100%

Dennis was our tour guide in and around Quito for several days in 2002. We found him through our travel agent Elena in Quito. Our several day trips out of the city invariably turned into trips that also encompassed the evening since we would skip lunch and substitute dinner instead. Dennis was always very patient with us and very thorough. He was a great driver and since we were two women travelling alone, always made us feel safe and secure especially in Quito. We have remained in touch and if I returned to Quito, it would always be to use Dennis' services. I will also recommend him to any friends considering a trip to Ecuador.

What a great guide! Highly recommended to all....

Dennis is a great guide, really enthusiastic about all facets of his country. I went on a 2 week tour with him, mainly through the Andean region and I learnt such a lot about Ecuador. He is very professional but also a lot of fun.

Dennis will become a Dear Friend, not just your guide

Rating: 100%

Enjoyed the people , food, and beautiful country, was very glad that Dennis did all the driving, this is not a place to rent a car and travel on your own,you need a guide to navigate these roads, and he is the best , and very knowledgeable of his country.

Traveler Reviews of Guanguiltagua Expeditions (Yepez Tours)

Amazing tour guide, extremely knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating

Rating: 100%

Dennis was a great tour guide and friend. We only had the pleasure of traveling with him for two days, but we learned so much about Ecuador in that time. Not only was he an excellent tour guide in the areas we were sightseeing, but he also provided information about the history and culture of Ecuador and the towns/sights we passed on the way. We visited Cotopaxi National Park and Banos, and both tours were amazing. He was more than accommodating, allowing us to see and do the activities we were interested in, even though we had a limited amount of time. He was kind enough to rush us to the airport. Then, when we missed our flight (because of our scheduling mistake, NOT HIS) he invited us into his home and helped us find another flight, sacrificing his personal time, space and sleep! Dennis is not only a wonderful tour guide, but an amazing, caring person who will do all he can to make sure you have an enjoyable experience. Thank you, Dennis!

Great way to see Ecuador!

Rating: 100%

Our tour with Dennis was a wonderful way to see, experience, and learn about the highlands of Ecuador. He was extremely knowledgeable about the country, and every place we visited. We felt like we had a personal friend showing us around, which made the trip more comfortable and fun. He was also flexible to accommodate our interests. We would definitely recommend it!

Memorable Ecuador...

Rating: 100%

Guanguiltagua offered us exactly what we wanted, definetely I suggest people to use them in case they go to Ecuador. The guide had very wide knowledge of all the sites. We learn a lot about plants, animals and the geography of this wonderful country. The price was very affordable. We recommend this company with no doubts!

Organized Wedding

Rating: 100%

Eva Smeets, Dennis Yepez & Dennis Yepez's dad organized a wonderful wedding ceremony experience for us on a Peak in Quito. This was a joyous, touching experience we will treasure all of our lives. The ceremony was intimate and special. If you want to run away and elope, we highly recommend their skills, especially Eva's ability to negotiate & coordinate needs plus activities.

Fantastic Time

Rating: 100%

Dennis is not only a very knowledgeable guide who has contacts up and down the countryside, a flexible can-do attitude, and a knack for finding great places to eat and stay, but also is a genuinely likeable and interesting traveling companion. So not only did we see and do a lot, but had a lot of fun doing it. I highly recommend Dennis and his tour company. Cheers!

Very good 12-day tour by Dennis of Ecuador highlands

Rating: 75%

Overall a wonderful experience. Most Liked: * the countryside is amazing -- snow-capped mountains and deep, green pastured valleys * wonderful cross-section of highlands life and culture * Dennis helped in designing a great mix of exercise (2-day, 40+km, 1600m vertical trek; biking down Cotopaxi) and relaxation (visits to Baños and Papallacta hot springs) * Dennis was thorough, very friendly, always on time, and extremely knowledgeable about Ecuador * lodging and food was very good, especially at La Ciénega, Cuenca (la Casona) and Papallacta * Dennis adapted well to our specific travel requests. Could be improved: * we had requested a Spanish-speaking only experience, but found that English too often crept into play

We went on a short 3-day tour through the Andes, from Quito to Cuenca, with Dennis, and not only we were amazed at the beauty of the country but also very happy about Dennis' professionality and friendliness. More than two years after this tour, we're still in contact by email! Highly reccommended. Gonçalo (Portugal) and Peter (Denmark)
