Casa Del Alabado - Museum Quito - Ecuador

Casa del Abalado welcomes you to the worlds of the ancient peoples of Ecuador. On the first floor, explore the Underworld, that of the ancestors and death. The next floor takes you through the Middle World, where we mere mortals reside, and then into the Supramundo, learning about the shamans' spiritual life and the way of the elites. This private collection has excellently preserved pieces that rival those in the Museo Nacional. Touch-screen computers give detailed explanations on techniques and another room has videos on the major pre-Columbian cultures of the region. Casa del Alabado is in a restored 16th-century house.
