Teatro Bolívar - Movie & Theater Quito - Ecuador

The Teatro Bolívar is one of Quito's longstanding cultural institutions and a leading venue for the performing arts. It was built in 1933 and quickly emerged as one of the preeminent theaters in South America. In the following years, it was converted into a cinema, before being damaged by a fire in a Pizza Hut on the ground floor. Now that the restorations are finished, the theater is once again the venue for concerts, plays and dance presentations. There are also guided tours led by costumed actors, who relate the story of the theater.
