Hostal Belmont

This is one of the cheapest places in Old Quito, with prices at $3 per person for a room with shared bathroom. The hostel is in desperate need of a paint job and most of the rooms are tiny, dark and damp. However, before you completely rule out the Belmont, check out a couple of rooms, some are better than others. The family that runs the place is friendly and lets guests use the kitchen and TV room. There are discounts for extended stays so be sure to negotiate if you are planning a longer trip in Quito.

Belmont Hostal, A real GEM!!

The current price is US$6, and I think its a gem here, considering further up the same road you will pay $8.50+12% tax for the Secret Garden Hostal, that has you in dormitory rooms, and you get NOTHING else, they even charge you tax on the internet they charge you. So for $6, includes your own private room and bathroom, 24hr hot water, kitchen usage, washing machines, unlimited internet, towels, toilet paper, soap...you can´t knock it, the top floor rooms are more airy.
