two separate nights

Rating: 75%

Stayed in room 1 the first night. Beds are very comfortable, bathroom large and comfortable. Room is adjacent to street and windows don't lock out the sounds of the street. With the bathroom window open, you hear the folks coming up the stairs. The windows in the room to the corridor let in the corridor light at night - you have to go out and turn off the corridor light, no big deal. My son with his Ipod and I with my earplugs had no problem sleeping. The staff, while not real good with English was very helpful. Day 2 we had room 11 which was much bigger as a double than room 1. It too had doors that were difficult to seal from the sounds of the courtyard. Water in the shower was plumbed backwards and it took 15 minutes for the hot water to flow on the new year holiday. The free breakfast downstairs was OK. A few bucks put on the table BEFORE you order with the scrip the hotel gives you gets you better service. All in all, a very clean, cozy middle of the city hotel. The turkish bath, sauna and steam were nice.

My boyfriend and I arrived to Quito without knowing where we were going to stay, at the airport the taxi company recommended us this Hotel and we trusted them. It was good we trusted them because we had a great time in this Hotel, it has a very good location, few steps from most touristics places, nice colonial house, and the service was excellent, everybody are willing to help you.

We couldn't be happier !

My wife and I were just staying at Hotel San Francisco de Quito, a wonderful place, not just because of the beautiful colonial house with patios, but for the nice and confortable rooms it has. We loved the balcony up to 25 or so meters high where we had an amazing view of the old town, we got some wonderful pictures up there. People working there are very nice and very helpful, always making guests feel like at home.

When we first got into Quito, we went ...

Rating: 0%

When we first got into Quito, we went hotel shopping, just to compare where were were staying with what was out there. And just for kicks, we thought that we might check out a downtown hotel which had optional suites. So we went to the San Francisco. this is one of those properties that you look at and say to yourself, \"This could be SO FABULOUS if only they had taste!\" I'ts got all of the right ingredients to be what it should be--a lovely old downtown inn withall floors built overlooking the interior couryard with the stone fountain. Check it out for yourself. It is what it is, and the prices are really good for Quito! P.S. No elevator, so if you can´t do stairs, don´t do the San Francisco!
