By Rachel Anderson

This small and open-air café serves deliciously rich coffee, made from 100% organic Ecuadorian beans.  In addition to buying coffee, take-home bags of coffee beans can be bought for a reasonable $5.50.  Food is basic, with a small selection of breakfast, sandwiches and cake.  Still, you’re here for the genuinely rich coffee, which is hard to come by in Quito.  For a quiet escape, head up to the second-floor balcony, which offers people-watching views of the street below.  There's a second location in La Ronda.

Traveler Reviews of Cafeto

The place I needed

Rating: 100%

Atmosphere, mixes colonial with modern times in a very cozy space. I really liked to sit and read while sipping a really good cup of hot chocolate.

Try a hazelnut or caramel latte

Rating: 100%

I was very pleased to find a real coffee shop in town as for there are many cafes but very few coffee shops. Ecuadorians are used to drink everything but good coffee but Cafeto sells organic expresso drinks and also sell whole beans by the pound. Great ambiance and the people that works there is so friendly and helpful that I was very happy to find good customer service in Quito. Again, the coffee is excellent but I recommend the hazelnut or caramel latte... They also have Chai Tea... yummy!!!
