El Sur
V!VA User‘s Description El Sur, the southern part of Quito, consists of the mass of colorful houses and shops south of El Panecillo. One of the major features is El Recreo, which is a gigantic and incredibly cheap mall with an equally gigantic movie theater, MultiCines, which has stadium seating. Most of El Sur is not catered to tourists, but if you want a glimpse of how a majority of working-class Quiteños live, take the trolle to El Recreo and hop on one of the buses that goes even farther south. On the other side of the platform, exit from the trolle and go for a stroll.
