La Floresta
Located east of La Mariscal, La Floresta is a more residential and less touristy district. Nonetheless, it's a neighborhood that still offers a wide variety of mid-range to luxury hotels as well as many of the city's trendiest restaurants, cafés and bars; and not to mention - Quito's only independent movie theater 'Ocho y Medio'. It's core is on 12 de Octubre and Coruña (Plaza Artigas roundabout) near the Swissotel and "The Strip" of apartments-with-wonderful-views that is Gonzales Suarez.
Other neighborhoods in Quito: Guápulo, Calderón, Plaza Foch, Near Quito, Mitad del Mundo, Northern Quito, Checa, San Marcos, La Mariscal and Cumbayá.
