Hotel Quito

Hotel Quito is a large, luxury hotel in La Floresta, with some of the best views over the city and the valleys to the east. The hotel offers all of the services one would expect of an international chain, but charges a much lower price. The exterior is somewhat obtrusive and outdated, but inside, the hotel feels spacious, comfortable and clean. The outdoor pool is a highlight; like the rooms and rooftop restaurant, the pool offers excellent views of the valleys east of Quito. If you feel like exercising, there are also tennis courts, playing fields and walking trails, among other options. Most rooms feature a balcony with a view and all of them have an internet connection, cable TV, and room service. The rooftop restaurant, El Techo del Mundo, is a definite benefit, and worth a visit even if you aren't staying at the hotel. Hotel Quito is a great launching point to Guápulo, a popular Quito neighborhood and is fairly close to both the center of La Floresta and La Mariscal.

Hotel Quito

I have been to Hotel Quito many times.  There rooms have been upgraded and all the staff have been very helpful.  Great views and restaurant!

This hotel should be closed down

I was shocked to see a 75% rating for this hotel. This is the worst hotel in Quito, run by crooks who take delight in cheating tourists out of their money. This was our experience: We booked the hotel from the US and prepaid. Upon arrival in Quito, we were told that there were no reservations. The hotel tried to charge us again. They refused to accept the vouchers we had. Fortunately, we also brought an email our travel agent had sent to us. We paid for a "superior" room. We were dumped into a room with burned out bulbs in the lamps, bathroom fixtures that rattled on the wall, a shower that would not drain and a balcony door that was bolted shut. The worst event occured at breakfast: We were told by our agent that breakfast was included. When we got there we were told there was no record of that. We were charged again. When our travel agent called Hotel Quito, during our stay, the hotel admitted they'd made a mistake. But, our money was not refunded. In fact, the clerk at the hotel who falsely charged us, smirked and said he was not responsible for the mistake. The manager of this hotel is absent most of the time. We are middle aged people who have been travelling for 30 years. We are able to pay for service but will certainly not recommend a hotel where you are charged for something do not receive service.
