If you’re looking to take a tour from Quito, whether it is a week in the Galapagos or a day in Old Town, La Mariscal is the place to book. Travel and tourism agencies have popped up around La Mariscal (specifically near Plaza Foch, the area’s central meeting point) making it easy to book once you arrive and have figured out exactly what you would like to do while in and around Ecuador’s capital. While it can’t hurt to book ahead, as tours are popular from Quito and often fill up, there are definitely risky but rewarding benefits in trying to catch last minute deals, specifically filling spots on Galapagos cruises.
