Traveler Reviews of Gulliver Travel

bad experience

Rating: 25%

People were nice with us until we paid the tour. After that, we had a irresponsible guide that was always 50 meters ahead of us while we were doing four peaks in four days.  Even after telling him, he kept up running to the front, and we are experienced climbers. We had an all-inclusive package, but we didn't take the food option. (Our mistake, we shouldn't have paid everything advance). We heard of other people wanting to cancel their tour 24 hours before because of bad weather, and didn't get the agreed 50% back. I am not saying that you shouldn't book there, because you might face the same problem with other tour operators, too. But I do suggest: -Only book day by day (and especially, only pay day by day), if you are afraid that everything could be booked out, don't worry. If they can make money, they will take you. -Even if you want to do a several days tour, stick to the day by day paying and stay flexible. You don't know if you'll get sick and if you pay in advance they won't give you the refund, even if they promise it. -Don't take all inclusive packages. Paying for food separately is cheaper and gives you the free range of food. Also paying per night at the PapaGayo Lodge is cheaper than a whole package.

The place is really friendly, will be keeping in touch with them even though I no longer need to use them.
