While this hotel is one of the cheapest in the Mariscal and is well located and spacious, there have been several very negative reports on inappropriate behavior on part of the staff, especially during their famous 'free rum and coke nights'.

lots of fun
100%A great place, with rum and coke nights monday, wednsday, friday. Great common room were you meet lots of people.
Excellent choice
100%I travelled over 6 months all over South America and this hostel was something unique. Great atmosphere and you can meet lots of people on common room. Not to mention those cuba libre nights.
Stinky Ripoff.
25%Centro del Mundo is a cramped hole in the wall. The common areas are uncomfortable and stinky (spilled rum and coke from years ago), there are no kitchen facilities, and the food offered is grossly overpriced. Beds are also not up to par, and everyone who slept in my room woke up with a stuffy nose because of the amount of dust and mold in the blankets.
