Although it’s far cleaner than Residencial Calama, its sister hotel, Hostel Calama is still far from your best choice for Quito accommodations. Bathrooms are somewhat less than spotless, and privacy is almost nonexistent on the ground floors. Staff at times are shiftless and despondent, adding to the atmosphere of depression about the place. Rates are standard for a single, double or triple room, but far better can be found for the same price.
