Warm, cozy, and a little labyrinth-like, Hostel New Bask also has an absurdly friendly staff. International and Ecuadorian travelers mix in the comfortable, fireplace-warmed common room, chat in the community kitchen, and squish past each other in the snug hallways. The welcoming atmosphere and inexpensive sleeping arrangements combine for a great value. Clean and safe, and nearing 15 years open.
