The Hotel Sierra Nevada was our residence while in Quito. Prompt service, an excellent breakfast (included) and a colorful hotel all made us feel welcomed and at home. It is located near numerous restaurants, nightclubs and other businesses in the new town. An added benefit is the owner, Freddy, speaks several languages and is very helpful in arranging trips to experience all aspects of Ecuador--from the Amazon to Cotopaxi to the Galapagos.
Rooms for 2-4 people, individual bathrooms, airport pick-up and return, daily fresh breakfast, English speaking staff, clean, comfy, safe, internet accessability, small courtyard, very accomodating to our needs.
Although it's pretty cheap, they have everything I want in a hotel (cleanliness, good bath and bed, 24h reception desk)... and I decided to give them 5 stars because the helped me a lot getting around in Quito and arranging a Cotopaxi hike last minute. There's no sauna and no pool, but who needs those things - I recommend this place to you. It's close to good nightlife/restaurants and you can even walk into the old city (which I preferred over the bus). It's best to ask for Freddy, he knows more than everyone in the hotel (and speaks perfect English for a change).
