A casual, reasonably priced steak restaurant in the Mariscal, Adam's Rib is a popular hub for cheap, big portions and plenty of expats. The New York-born owner, George, speaks Spanish like a native and his customers seem to always come back if only just to joke around with him.
The place is known for its BBQ, so try the baked beans. The BBQ sauce is now for sale.
Service can be slow, so sit back and relax.

Not that cheap, not worth the price, service not very nice. I just didnt like the place or the service or the food or the over price.
almost anywhere else better on price service and food
not cheap , not friendly , not special , unless your one of the owners friends
The owner George is always drunk and on drugs , and very rude , I sorry to say he is also an American , I will never go their again.
We went in only because of what was advertised as the menu del dia. We presumed it would be about $4, as the place opposite charges $3.50. We didn't get what was listed, as they had run out, but were never told so when we ordered. The food was bland, the service slow and the the atmosphere dull and all for the expensive price of $8 for the menu del dia. I would not go again.
Love the BBQ sauce, cornbread and special ranch sauce!!
Don't miss the ribs--either baby back smoked or country style. There's also great burgers, smoked chicken, and for dessert: pecan pie, apple pie, or New York cheese cake. The TV's turned down now and the bar's less active--both of which make the food better.
Adam's Ribs is an old standby for great bar-b-que in Quito. There is enough on the menu to go back over and over again and everything is fresh and homemade and delicious. Try the Sunday brunch which includes a Bloody Mary or a Mimosa... the eggs benedict are really good.
The filet mignon was very good. And his brownies are really tasty! I would go there again for sure! The American owner is very friendly and always told us to walk in the middle of the road at night, so everybody could see us walking and nothing would happen...very sweet of him.
Try the great burgers and award winning chili with homemade corn bread. Excellent filet mignon (lomo fino) and sandwiches. Good salads and vegetarian stir fry.
