This small Lebanese café is a popular, affordable option frequented by locals. Many are no doubt attracted by the owner Hassan himself, a sleepy-eyed, passionate cook who moved to Ecuador years ago after running two very successful restaurants in Southern California. But the specials are the real draw; you can enjoy a falafel sandwich with freshly-baked pita bread, as well as rice and dessert for $0.99. And then there's the dessert with anything deal. Yes, buy anything, even a bottle of water, and you can wash down a syrup-drizzled, sweet-dough empanada gratis. On the subject of water, the menu states that it uses the purified variety.
