The Green Horse Ranch is a German operated horse ranch, located at the bottom of a volcanic crater, just outside of Quito. In operation since 1995, the Ranch specializes in trail-rides throughout the Western Andes. Astrid Müller, owner of the ranch, has lived in Ecuador since 1990, after realizing her childhood-dream of working with horses. The knowledgeable international and local staff has life-long riding experience, and is happy to go that extra length to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. Trips venture into the heart of the Ecuadorian Andes, and are accompanied by the outstanding scenery that has made Ecuador famous: lush green cloud forests, desert-like landscapes, deep river canyons and steep mountain slopes, hot sunny valleys and cool windy heights, picturesque farming land and silent crater lakes. Due to the remoteness of the area, overnight stops are mainly basic, though always carefully chosen, cozy and nice.
