Located a mere half hour south of Quito, La Carriona is a viable option for the traveler who needs to stay in the capital but who still wants to have the hacienda experience (at a reasonable rate). It is also convenient to the Pasochoa reserve and Cotopaxi park. It is traditional hacienda, over 200 years old. The 25 rooms and eight junior suites are elegant and ample, with large windows for guests to enjoy the view of the gardens. Facilities include a conference area, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, pool, tennis court and soccer field. There is even a small bullring, and bullfights in the local tradition can be arranged with advance notice.

La Carriona is a mid-range to expensive hacienda in terms of price: costs range from $86 for a single to $116 for a triple, or $146 for a suite. Breakfast is included.
