Termas de Papallacta

The Termas de Papallacta Spa, Resort, and Convention Center is quite literally a world unto its own. For a city escape, make the trip to this inviting retreat perched high in the Andean valley. Stay at the hotel or in one of the cabins and enjoy the mountain-view hot pools day and night. The hotel restaurant is possibly the best (and just about the only) choice in the area.

When you’ve had enough poolside relaxation, dry off and head to one of the resort’s other pamper-yourself facilities. You can choose to revitalize your body with a variety of therapies, massages, and tailor-made treatments—their exclusive “Thermal Club” is a great opportunity to really relax and revamp.  

The area is also home to an abundance of flora and fauna, which can be explored via a number of walking trails. Guided ecological tours are also available. As if the pools themselves weren’t draw enough, the resort also has an on-site restaurant, where you can soak your senses in both local and international fare. Thanks to its beauty and promise of a relaxing getaway, this place is packed on weekends and during holidays, so be sure to reserve in advance.   

The most economical way to stay at the Termas de Papallacta is to share one of the six or eight-person cabins.  It’s best to come as a group, as the place offers no dormitory-style lodging for solo travelers

Super relaxing place

I lived in Quito for a while and I love this place. My favourite part is the hydro massage pools. These are more expensive to enter, but the water massaging your back is really very relaxing. The restaurant has good food too.

Very nice and unique

The service, the food and the hot springs are very nice and unique, you can pay a couple of dollars and get wireless access so you can work and enjoy the place at the same time. We will come back for sure.

Relaxing Experience

I had a really lovely time at this hotel. It is very tranquilo, the springs are beautiful and wonderful to sit in. The restaurant on site is also very tasty. Overall a great time.

Very Relaxing

Termas de Papallacta is a very relaxing place. It is worth spending that bit extra to stay overnight at the spa - when you do that you get access to a different and quieter set of pools.
