A small all-suites hotel with just space for 24 people – two per suite – has the feel of a modern luxury spa more than a hotel. The open, fresh rooms are decorated with minimalist décor – using oversized picture windows as the main attraction and soft tones with wood balancing out the natural feel. The views are the main attraction: each suite has two spectacular views. When lying in bed, you look out over the edge of the Pululahua Volcano Crater. When you lounge on the plush couch, you look out over the mountains on the other side of the volcano.

The suites are all one room with a divider between sitting area and the bed. The sitting area features a comfy leather couch and ergonomic leather chair, a picture window looking out onto the other side of the crater and a plasma screen connected to a DVD player – a selection of DVDs is found in the reception. The bedroom is outfitted with plush down-mattress and pillows, and thick feather blankets facing the picture window overlooking the crater. Large tubs are in each bathroom.

The hotel is designed for complete relaxation. You can even request aromatherapy treatments and personal massages in the comfort of your own suite. Just 25 km (15 miles) north of Quito, you can go for days in complete natural silence.

The hotel can arrange for personal guides to take you around the many hikes in the area. An orchid garden is in process and guests are invited to help out.

Getting There:
Up a fairly steep, unpaved road off the main highway just north of Mitad de Mundo. Follow signs - there is only one entrance, so its difficult to get lost.
