Steaks
While not offering incredible ambiance, El Chacal is a hole in the wall that somehow manages to squeeze in two huge, loud TVs, this steak restaurant has possibly Quito’s best steak. The value is excellent – about $6.50 for a huge portion of steak. For those with smaller appetites, half portions of all the steaks are available at exactly half the price.
Try the picaña – which comes with two delicious slabs of steak, a salad and garnishes. The sanduche de lomo – steak sandwich is also highly recommended.
Vegetarians won't be tickled pink: the only items for vegetarians are the salad of lettuce, onions and tomatoes and a baked potato.
