Restaurante Mi Cocina

A semi-elegant restaurant in the north of Quito a couple of blocks from the Parque Carolina, Restaurante Mi Cocina offers typical Ecuadorian cuisine like empanadas and fritada. There is outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating for big groups.

Try the chocolate caliente (hot chocolate). Its made from real chocolate and served with the traditional slice of queso fresco (flavorless cheese).

Traveler Reviews of Restaurante Mi Cocina

Great place for Ecuadorian classics!

This is a nice restaurant for typical Ecuadorian food. The empanadas are great, as are appetizer specials like choclo con chicharron (pork cracklings). Also highly recommendable is the locro (thick potato soup served with avocado and fresh cheese). Locro is delicious with aji, the hot sauce served on the table. This soup is really filling and a good way to stretch your buck.
Main dishes like the typical fritada are excellent and come with plenty of food.
To drink, I recommend the Limonada Imperial, made with mineral water.
