Pizza el Hornero is a popular Ecuadorian chain of pizza restaurants. One of the eateries is located right next to Quito’s international airport (you can’t miss the huge green sign!). The menu offers everything you would expect of an Italian restaurant: pizzas, calzones, pastas, lasagnas and garlic bread. Although the food isn’t spectacular, El Hornero is still a great place to grab a bite or a drink if you find yourself with a lot time to kill at the airport. (For example if a flight is diverted to Guayaquil and is going to arrive 6 hours late.) As with all the Pizza El Hornero locations dotted across the city (including the Mariscal branch) the airport branch also offers delivery service, but will only accept calls from landlines (not cell phones).
