Inland Water Birds of Galapagos - Birdwatching
- Ecuador
Although the different islands that make up Galapagos are generally very dry and arid, there are a few ponds and streams, mostly in the highlands of the larger islands. These ponds and streams are home to a handful of species of water birds like ducks and grebes that visitors won't ever see out to sea or on the beach. The most famous is probably the endemic Galapagos Pintail Duck, which can be seen in the highlands of Santa Cruz, Isabela or San Cristobal.
