Hotel Albemarle - Hotel Puerto Villamil - Ecuador

Location is everything, and Hotel Albemarle has the best location of any hotel on Isabela Island. It’s right between the beach and the main park, where all the action is (or whatever action tiny Puerto Villamil has to offer, anyway). It has an impressive façade, and the interior is stately if a little small and oddly structured. Check out the ocean view from the roof deck. Prices for the rooms vary depending on whether they face the ocean or not. The ground-floor restaurant has good food and service. There is a small swimming pool near the restaurant. Like most upscale hotels on Isabela, Albemarle can help set up tours and transportation. The Hotel Albemarle (and the restaurant) is one of the only places in town that will take credit cards, and important thing to remember if you forgot to bring cash with you.
