Grand Hotel Lobo del Mar

The Grand Hotel Lobo del Mar may be “grand” in terms of size, due to its recent four-story addition, but it is nowhere near grand in terms of service, despite the variety of activities it coordinates. The hotel has a day-boat, the Galapagos Shark, and a cruise-boat, the Lobo del Mar III, and it also has partnerships with a variety of day-tour operators. This means that you may wind up having to stay in the already paid-for Lobo del Mar, and it is a toss-up whether you will be placed in the swanky, newer, more expensive section of the hotel or the lifeless, older, more economical section. If you are lucky, you will have one of the newer rooms, complete with lush comforts, television, and air-conditioning. Less-fortunate tourists will get a room in the older, darker section, which comes with a fan and private hot bath. Leaving chance aside and communicating objections to reception staff over the location (and subsequent worth) of your room will result in the standard apology, graceless smile, and no change.

Excellent hotel

better not

Service was bad, we had to wait for breakfast about 30 minutes every day so we had to eat in a hurry. One day no hot shower and they were not able to fix it. No towels in the bathroom. Bathroom always flodded after showering, since showr curtin was not big enough.
