The Hotel Palmeras is your typical cookie-cutter hotel, with a touch of added elegance. It has a capacity for 70 guests in 32 single, double, triple, and quadruple rooms. Rooms on the first floor have fan and private hot water facilities. Second-floor rooms have air-conditioning, private hot bath, and television. A bright top-floor restaurant, disco, swimming pool, and game room add entertainment options for its varied clientele. There are also laundry, telephone, fax, and internet services available.

The Hotel Palmeras works with SERVITUR and other local tour operators to organize combination tours that utilize their own boat, the Verito. Since the hotel caters to large groups and tours, they have mastered the art of providing efficient, friendly, and personalized service.

A large group of us stayed at the Hotel Palmeras. It's cheap but....

- the rooms are generally in bad repair. Our shower door was falling off the wall. The A/C leaked. The windows and doors didn't seal so there were bugs in the room always. BIG BUGS!

- Multiple rooms had problems with fleas and bed bugs.

- The A/C didn't work for two of our rooms and the hotel never fixed them.

- During a rain storm, multiple rooms had leaks, and one flooded. The hotel didn't seem to care much.

- The hotel staff seemed more interested in talking with their boy/girl friends than actually helping fix problems.
