V!VA User‘s Description

Hotel Salinas is one of the more spacious and professional budget hotels in Puerto Ayora. It has 22 plain, yet comfortable, rooms with private baths, which are distributed on three floors. As you climb the courtyard staircase, you encounter more frills and perks. First floor singles and doubles have tepid water and fans; second floor doubles, triples, and quadruples have hot water and fan; and third floor suites, which may or may not still be under construction, have hot water, air-conditioning, and cable. The hotel also offers 24-hour coffee, laundry, and tour information services.

Even though the Hotel Salinas lacks the kitschy character that other budget accommodations in Puerto Ayora provide, rooms are clean, location is central, and staff is friendly and helpful. The small central garden also provides a refreshing area for sipping cold drinks or chatting with new friends.

Room Prices:
Lower:$22.40
Higher:$56
Price Description:The Salinas offers a wide variety of rooms and prices. The first floor rooms are sort of dismal, and have no frills: $22.40 will get you a en suite single with no hot water, a TV (no cable), no air conditioning but a fan. On the upper floors, rooms are nicer with better facilities and the prices increase accordingly. It's best to go, see what they have available and negotiate for a price. Price includes taxes but breakfast is not included. All meals in the small attached restaurant cost $4.48 except platos a la carta which cost $7.84 (not including tax).
