Santa Fe, located about 20 km southeast of Santa Cruz, is a popular destination for day trips and cruise itineraries. A wet landing on a white-sand beach—home to a colony of sea lions—provides visitors with the opportunity to follow two different trails. The first trail, a 300-meter circuit, takes you to one of the tallest stands of opuntia cactus in the archipelago, some reaching heights of over 10 meters.
The other trail, a 1.5 km hike through palo santo forest, may expose you to a variety of land birds, the Galápagos hawk, and the elusive species of land iguana endemic to Santa Fe.
