In terms of price, location, and facilities, Hotel Cielo Azul is probably one of the best choices on the western side of Atacames. Tucked away from the Malecón’s noise and crowds, hotel rooms overlook the beach and a central courtyard appointed with a small, but clean pool. Follow a sandy walkway from the hotel and relax beachside, or mosey on back to the pool area where you can stake claim to a lawn chair and order a drink from the poolside bar. Rooms are clean and bright, with private baths and tiled floors, and the coral hues add to the sub-tropical feel. As one might expect from a place like this, it fills up during high season so be sure to reserve a room in advance.
