In terms of price, location and facilities, Hotel Cielo Azul is probably one of the best choices on the western side of Atacames. The hotel is tucked away from the Malecón’s noise and crowds and the rooms overlook the beach and a central courtyard with a small, but clean, pool. Follow a sandy walkway from the hotel and relax on the beach, or mosey back to the pool area where you can stake claim to a lawn chair and order a drink from the poolside bar. Rooms are clean and bright, with private baths and tiled floors, and the coral hues add to the tropical feel. As one might expect from a place like this, the hotel fills up during high season so be sure to reserve a room in advance.
