Like a number of places in Atacames, Hotel Galleria has seen better days. The small, dark rooms are in a conspicuously large, sagging, wooden building and offer little more than a bathroom, simple bunks and maybe-works ceiling fan. Despite appearances, however, the hotel is not without its charms. Balconies feature slivers of seaside views and the restaurant downstairs has an extensive menu, specializing in pizza and pasta, as well as street side and ocean views. While the rooms might not be to your taste, the restaurant is a perfect spot for sharing a few drinks with friends or just people watching. Ask owner Milton Altamirano about the package deal—a real steal considering the Atacames location: room, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner for $10. Galleria may not be the Hilton, but you can’t beat the hotel's prices.
