Hotel

By Katie Tibbetts

Large and modern, this is one of the classier places in town. A number of room options are available, from cabin-like bunks to first class suites. Rooms are a bit shabby for the price, but then again the five pools, basketball court, breakfast, and friendly staff are also included. Parking is also available. The main pool area is wide open, large and surrounded by palm-thatched huts for picnicking. If you do stay here, mosey on next door and grab a bite to eat at the also-classy restaurant.

Traveler Reviews of Hotel Juan Sebastian

Great Pool and Breakfast

Rating: 75%

The hotel is clean with a wonderful pool and breakfast. The staff speaks little English, but are very helpful. It is not Miami or Grand Cayman...which was good for us...we love Atacames. But people who think they are coming to a fancy beach area will not be happy. The area is beach shabby, but full of life and music. The people are some of the best in the world. This is listed as a five star hotel. Do not compare this with a five star hotel in the U.S. or Europe. I would stay here again. The cabins in the front of the hotel put you just across the street from the beach. Nighttime can be loud and fun...but you feel 100% safe in this hotel. At night the multi-colors dancing across and lighting up the pool is beautiful. It is expensive for Ecuador, but with breakfast included it is a deal compared with anywhere else in the world.
