This budget hostel, along the Olmeda drag, can be reached via a set of stairs from the street. The walls around the reception area have been painted a cheerful purple color, which matches the friendly woman who will show you available rooms. As in most of the lodgings in Esmeraldas, the rooms are slightly run-down, but for the most part clean and tidy. Beware that rooms overlooking the street can be noisy, so don’t expect a vacationer’s retreat. What you will get is a bed with clean sheets, private bathroom with 24-hour hot water, and a relatively safe night’s sleep.
