Sitting right on the Olmeda drag, this budget hostal is reached via a set of stairs from the street. The walls around the reception area have been painted a cheerful purple color, which matches the friendly woman who will gladly show you available rooms. Like most of Esmeraldas the rooms are slightly run down, but for the most part clean and tidy. Beware that rooms overlooking the street can be noisy, so don’t expect a vacationer’s retreat. What you will get is a bed with clean sheets, private bathroom with 24 hour running water, and a relatively safe night’s sleep.
